Day 330 – Buellton

Sunday was a bit of a lazy day at the campground, Michael went for a morning run and then later we both went for a walk to the grocery store. Along the way, we walked through the hotel next door to our campground, which happened to be the Sideways Inn (as featured in the movie Sideways).

Day 331 – Buellton to Morro Bay

Monday started off with work from the campground, then we continued north along the coast to a lunch stop in Pismo Beach at Dinosaur Caves Park, where we met another young Westy couple who were traveling for 6 months from New Hampshire. Then we continued on to check in to our hotel in Morro Bay, where we stayed indoors to keep warm and dry.

Day 332 – Morro Bay

A rainy Tuesday for the most part, so it was mainly a day for working at the hotel. We took advantage of a mid-day break in the rain to eat lunch at Hoffbrau and take a walk along the Embarcadero.

Day 333 –  Morro Bay to Greenfield

Wednesday morning the rain let up, so we started off with a run through Morro Bay State Park. Then after getting some work done, we continued north to our next stop, a campground near Greenfield.

Day 334 – Greenfield

Thursday was another work day from the campground, but with the nice weather Michael was able to get in a morning run. Tracey used the extra time to make a big batch of chili.

Day 335 – Greenfield to Monterey

After working in the morning, we made the short drive to Pinnacles National Park, where we had lunch and then hiked the Balconies Cliffs-Cave Loop. It was a fun hike that required a little caving and a few boulder scrambles, as well. Then it was time to finish the drive and head into Monterey. The weather had cleared up a bit, so we made the walk from our hotel to downtown Pacific Grove to get groceries, then walked back along the bayfront.

Day 336 – Monterey

Saturday we had an excellent sunny day, so we started off with a walk along Monterey Bay to Cannery Row, where we ate lunch. We continued on to check out the Fisherman’s Wharf area, and then on into the historic downtown area of Monterey. As we got to the southern end of downtown, it was getting late in the afternoon, so it was time to turn around and make the long walk back to the hotel.
