As the temperatures in Granada started to drop, we decided it was time for a quick getaway to the Costa del Sol. We spent a nice weekend in Nerja, a small town in the Costa del Sol. It is just a 2 hour bus ride from Granada, making it perfect for a short trip.
While we did enjoy being able to sit outside on the beach in January eating lunch, we almost forgot we were still in Spain. The city is full of expats (mostly Brits and Germans escaping the cold), so all the signs/menus/etc were at least in 3+ languages, and I think we saw more ex-pats and visitors than native Spanish residents. But it does still have some of its Spanish charm, and it definitely has lot of beautiful views of the coast and surrounding mountains.
