For Valentine’s Day weekend, we decided to do something special and make our first trip to Spain’s neighbor on the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal. Specifically, we visited Lisbon, the largest city in the country and one of the oldest cities in Europe. It is a beautiful, charming city set on the mouth of the Tagus River, with historic neighborhoods running up and down steep hills and an awesome castle sitting right on the top of the tallest one. We enjoyed a lovely hotel right in the city center and walked for dozens of miles to explore several different neighborhoods. We also ate some very tasty food.
